Hi!

(sorry for duplicating the post, but I guess I posted in the wrong forum branch)

I need help in English (sorry, I don’t know German).

I bought Fritz!Box 7530 router, but there’s no internet. I can successfully connect to wi-fi, password works, but after that there’s no internet, e. g., fritz.box doesn’t open.

Power/DSL and WLAN lights are green, other lights are not lit.

I tried to contact technical people from o2 by phone, but they can’t help in English.

I already had a ticket about this problem, but it was closed somehow, ticket number is

XXXXXXXXXX.

I do not understand your problem. No internet connection is necessary to access the Fritzbox user interface (https://fritz.box) otherwise you would not be able to configure the Fritzbox at all.

Assistance in setting up a customer-owned device is not the subject matter of an o2 DSL contract and consequently also not an obligatory service of the o2 customer service. This also applies to translation services.

Thanks for reply. My problem is that I can’t access fritz.box in the first place. Attached you may see my screenshot of browser.

Also, I must add 2 things: after 30 minutes or so the “Info” led light turns red. When this happens, I can also ping fritz.box successfully:

% ping fritz.box
PING fritz.box (192.168.179.1): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.179.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=36.855 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.179.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=3.593 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.179.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=3.357 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.179.1: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=3.212 ms

But it still doesn’t open in the browser.

@Nikolay Ulyanov Is this an used Fritzbox? You can’t configure a Fritzbox over the WiFi guest network from the Fritzbox.
In the moment you are using the guest network. -> Ip 192.168.179.x

I recommend connecting a PC or notebook to the router via LAN cable. This way, no mistakes like connecting to a wrong WLAN network (like “Gastzugang”) can happen.
According to your screenshot, this is not a Fritzbox in the delivery state.
Since you described exactly the same thing with another router a few months ago, the cause may also be the end device you are using.

Thanks!

Do you know, is it possible to return it to delivery state? to non-Gastzugang?

If you bought the Fritzbox as allegedly new, I recommend exchanging the device with the seller for an actual new device.

In the factory state, the Wi-Fi name should be as indicated on the type plate. If this is obviously not the case, it is not a new device but a used model.

@Nikolay Ulyanov Did you have a notebook with a lan port and a lan cable? This is the best way to reset the Fritzbox.
Or did you have a landline phone with a TAE connector nearby?

Thanks, I’ll check out tomorrow, maybe we have a computer with lan port at work

@Nikolay Ulyanov If you have a landline phone nearby, than connect this phone over the TAE connector to the Fritzbox and dial  #991*15901590*

This makes a factory reset too.

Oh, that was actually a good advice; finally it clicked me that there should be another network in the list which is not the guest network (because the router is from eBay the network name was non-obvious); I found it and now have the internet, thanks : )

Hello @Nikolay Ulyanov,

thank you for your feedback. I am glad to see you already recieved tipps that helped with this issue and you are now able to access the internet just as you like :-)

Regards,

Lars
