IPV4 on myHome XL Kable connection

Hi,

I took a myHome XL Kable subscription a couple months ago. As I went through the contract, I did not see any part saying I would only be getting a DS-Lite connection.

However, I need to be able to host a few services from my personal connection (private cloud, game servers,...). Some of those cannot be accessed using ipv6 only (my mobile ISP only provides ipv4 when abroad).

Could you please allow me to have an ipv4 (a dynamic one is good enough).

Thank you in advance!

When you check  https://www.o2online.de/internet-festnetz/kabel/

and scroll a bit down you find the FAQs “Häufige Fragen zu Kabel-Internet”

and there you find under no 3 “Welche Unterschiede zwischen DSL und Kabel muss ich berücksichtigen?”

which translates into “various services are not available with cable for example fixed IP address or public IPv4 address”

Best Regards Matze .

It is unfortunately not possible by design.

This

It is unfortunately not possible by design.

Does it mean that, by design, I am unable to completely use my Internet connection (just like a regular Internet connection)?

No it’s actually Orange France. I have ipv6 when in France but not in Luxembourg nor in Germany.

Hi @grumlu

Welcome to our o2 community.

I am afraid that there is no solution in this case, cause your tariff includes no public IPv4 address.

I am sorry.

Best Regards Matze

Is this written anywhere in the contract? Because DSL users have a dynamic ipv4 and the contract somehow stipulates that the services are the same regardless of the type of connection we get (fiber, cable or DSL)...

DS-Lite is the standard for cable networks like 230V for electric.
