Hello,

So, as the title says, my connection is exceptionally slower than my contract.

My contract: 250 mbit down | 40 mbit up
What I actually get: anywhere from 50 to 91 mbit down. I have only once broken the 100 mbit down speed

This is not a speedtest run on some website. This is not wifi or lan testing, this is the actual DSL sync in the fritz box with O2. See the photo:

This is the current connection. As you can see, I have even lost some upload speed this time around.

My max DSLAM down is 204416 kbits (204.4 mbits)
My max DSLAM up is 46720 kbits (46.6 mbits)

To make matters worse, there is a severely unstable connection between O2 and the fritz box. If I leave it at fastest settings on line settings, I get the fastest speed (see screenshot) but the connection breaks consistently. Obviously, the closer I move it to “more stable”, the more stable it gets, but at a severe loss of speed. I had it set directly in the middle, where I was getting the most stable connection, but at 50.1 mbits down.

My fritz box is rated to 300 mbits.

This is actually worse than my old connection and my old fritz. My old contract was 50 down | 10 up, and I consistently got more than that, and the connection never broke. I have had the new contract for about a month, and played with the settings a bit in the new fritz (I work in IT, so I figured I would try to work out the problem myself) it neither got better or worse, just stayed the same as I reported above.

Again, before anyone tells me to test a lan cable connection with some speedtest website, the speeds posted are not even the client side speeds, but the actual router/modem to O2 connection sync that is clearly displayed in the router (again, see screenshot above).

Based on my previous contract, I was losing about 20 mbits on the client side from what the router was pulling from O2, which is acceptable, and based on my max DLSAM (204406 kbits or 204.4 mbits), I should have about 205 mbits download, meaning I should have 185 mbits download on the client side (Client=PC/laptop). I am no where near this.

Router is a 7590 AX Fritz!Box

@CharlieK Can you please post the complete Screenshots from Interent/DSL Information/Overview , DSL and Spectrum. Please from the Screenshot DSL incl. with the DTU errors! Thanks.

as you can see, we have lost some more connection speed this evening:

@CharlieK You have massive technical problems on your line. (Surprise  )

Please raise a technical ticket. First run the service app (English) and get a pre ticket number. Than call the hotline. (English)

Sorry, was away on business the passed week. Will do this immediately tomorrow. Thanks for the update.

For reference, the speed has decreased to 58.2 Mbps. I am now getting almost 200 mbps less than what I pay for.

Hi @CharlieK

did you already get in contact with our DSL technical department?

I look forward to your feedback what they suggested to you.

Thanks a lot for the good suggestions of @Joe Doe

Loving greetings,

Tobias
