Switching to o2 from WinSim

Hallo,

i would like to switch from WinSim to o2. My contract with WinSim ends on 19.09.2021 and I already informed them that I would like to terminate my contract with them as I am well within my notice period. They agreed to this.

Can I get an explanation from o2 side if I have to wait until September or can I start the porting process now? A feedback will be well appreciated.

Best,

Okeyfykes

Hello @Okeyfykes,

just to clarify:

The transfer of your phone number does not mean that your contract with Winsim will end. The normal contract period will continue until the end of the contract as agreed in the contract. If you now sign a new o2 contract and take the number from Winsim to o2, you will logically pay for both contracts. For the Winwim contract, you will be assigned a new number if you take your current number to another provider before the end of the contract. As I read it, you don't want to pay twice. Therefore, I would advise you to wait until the end of the Winsim contract is approaching before signing a new contract with o2.

Have a nice evening and kind regards

You can transfer your number at any time.

What about the cost?

WinSim will charge you for the transfer as per their price list. It should not be more than 7 Euros. When do you want to transfer the number - now or in September? Do you already have a contract with o2?

I don’t have a contract yet with o2. I’m just checking that I don’t pay double on both sides. I would like to transfer now if possible.

As soon as you have a contract you can request the immediate transfer but you need to contact WinSim first to have the number released otherwise o2's request will be rejected.

So you suggest I should go ahead with the o2 contract? I need clarity on the payment part. Will I pay both o2 and WinSIm until the end of WinSim contract?
