Hi,

I wanted to buy a prepaid O2 sim and tried to order a sim card from https://www.o2-freikarte.de/ . I filled up the form with all the valid information. (I double checked it)


I got my sim yesterday and I found that in the invoice my First Name was correct but the Surname was not matched with the name that I provided. They put my whole name into the Surname section.

 

Suppose, According to my passport my First name: abc and Surname: def. But the sim I got, had the full name in the Surname section. That is, Surname: abcdef.

Thus when I tried to verify the sim thorough video identification method I couldn't. Because the surname was not matching with my passport. They lady who was trying to identify me understood the problem but yah she couldn’t change my surname by herself.

I tried to call the prepaid helpline but as I don’t understand German I failed to select any proper option there. Called the english helpline but found that was for postpaid only. Is there any way to activate my sim now? or do I have to order again?

if the hotline is no option for you, and if there’s no one who can translate for your, I’d also recommend ordering a new card.
