Prepaid card use for outside of EU

Greetings,

I bought Prepaid O2 Card (Tariff is S) in Germany. Soon I’ll be going to Turkey which is outside of EU. I wonder if I will still be able to receive international calls. Is there something I should do such as opening my card to internal calls or is it already open? In that case I just need to top up my balance.

Thanks in advance,

Best Regards,

Hakan

Hi!

Your prepaid card is ready to use in foreign countries.

You can use your o2 prepaid card in Türkiye too, but not your tariff o2 my Prepaid S.

You have to pay for incoming calls  (0,69 Euro/min), using internet (12.29 Euro / MB) and make call in Türkiye and i.e. Germany (starting from1,59 Euro/min) .

You can find the prices in the o2 prepaid price list or here: https://www.o2-freikarte.de/prepaid-ausland/

Merhaba Hakan!

o2 hazir kartları yurdışında kullanımına açıktır. Hemen kulklanabilrisin.

Hello @Hakan Koese ,

welcome to our community! :hugging:

tearsbeforecrying already explained everything very well!

Even in two languages, awesome!

Thank you very much!

Do you still have open questions or could tearsbeforecrying already clarify everything?

Best regards,

Manuela

Hi Manuela,

Thank you for reply. Yes, tearsbeforecrying already explained everything well and I’m already using Prepaid im Ausland tariff right now. However, since it’s a little bit expensive, I’m looking for the alternatives. First, I tried Wi-Fi call method but I had issues with incoming calls (outgoing calls are fine). And I already created a seperate theme for this one → Wi-Fi Call is not working for incoming calls | O₂ Community (o2online.de)

Second, I’m looking for other Ausland pack options that I can buy/use other than general Ausland tariff which tearsbeforecrying already explained very detail. Maybe you can have something to say about this one. Because in other service providers that I use, they always have special Ausland packages that you can use, for instance, one special Ausland package allows you to the same tariff as Inland for a fixed price per day. Another package provides some minutes and data volume packages for a fixed price etc. All we have is general Ausland tariff or there also other options that we can buy/use?

Thanks in advance,

Hakan

o2 Prepaid does not offer any special packs for abroad.
The providers calculate their prices differently. Apparently, the focus of o2 prepaid is on Germany and other EU countries. For Türkiye it is Ayyildiz/Aystar and more generally abroad at Ortel Mobile. Both are brands of o2/Telefonica.

Hello @Hakan Koese,

thank you for asking.
Again, @tearsbeforecrying has already answered your question completely - thank you very much for your help!
Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything else. The easiest thing to do would be to get a prepaid SIM card for the time you are in Turkey!

Kind regards
Jessica

Hi @o2_Jessica ,

Thanks for the answers. Your suggestion could be an option but I want to receive calls via my prepaid o2 number. That’s why I cannot buy another prepaid SIM card.

Best Regards,

Hello @Hakan Koese,

then I guess the Wifi-Call Option would be the best.

My colleagues in your other threads which are far more experienced than I am for example with that technology/ problems can hopefully help you fix that problem! 😊

Kind regards
Jessica 🌻
