Please cancel my o2 postpaid sim (store bought) ASAP. Today is Day 14th . I went to the store yesterday but they denied cancelling the contract.

Reason for cancellations

  1. I am moving to Freising (near Munich Airport) and the o2 connection is bad over there.(Tested personally)
  2. During the purchase of sim I wasn’t told about the one time connection fee which I have to pay
  3. During the purchase I was told that my sim is portable i.e network provider can be changed but the o2 customer care told me that the network provider can’t be changed within the first 2 years of contract.

I have been misled and now I am being harrased. I have has 10 calls with o2 customer care (over the last 3 days) and everytime I am being told something different.

I have mailed to o2, raised a cancellation request on o2’s website, raised a request on o2’s twitter handles and been to the store on advice on o2 customer care but nothing has helped.

I am an expat in Germany; don’t understand german (contract was in German) and hence relied on the words of o2 store manager.

My last resort would be to loop in legal here.

Please HELP URGENTLY

Hey there,

there is no 14 Days cancellation if you buy at a store. Only if the purchase is higher then 200 € , like buying a smartphone with that contract.

Also is a mobile contract not stationary so if you’re in Augsburg or anywhere you have a stabile network. So you wrote you tested it in Freising with bad conditions so why do you bought it Nevertheless?

Mabye you can sell the contract to some one else if not ……..

Best wishes

Hello @Aditi

welcome to the o2 community and thank you for your contribution!
I am very sorry that an unpleasant topic has led you to us.

However, as witti has already explained to you, the 14-day cancellation period does not apply to contracts concluded in the store. In addition, the store is your contractual partner in this case. Any form of goodwill or similar is at the discretion of the store where you have concluded the contract. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do in this case.

Kind regards
Jessi 😊
