Hello o2,

 

can you please stop the interruptions for adsl users or at least increase the time like other adsl providers already did (see https://hilfe.o2online.de/o2-dsl-vertrag-tarife-33 /24-hour-forced-separation-588124)?

 

Before, i heard that due to law, the connection of private customer is forced to be disconnected every 24 hours. OK fine we have nothing to do with the law.

 

Now o2 offers cable option for private customer which does not have such interruptions (see https://hilfe.o2online.de/router-software-internet-telefonie-34/tarif-ohne-zwangstrennung-593967). I am using o2 adsl and unfortunately, cable option is not available at my place, and the router that o2 gave me does not have the option to change time to be disconnected.

It is best if the improvment is performed automatically (exising customers do not need to register for it).

Buy a FRITZ!Box so you are able to change the disconnect time.

And with Telekom you can use the long use IP Adress only with Telekom router.

I never had a problem with the IP Adress change. Even with server services…


@schluej, disconnect time can be changed everyone knows that. First, the point is that 24h does not make sense anymore. You do not have problem with it does not mean the other users do not have it too.


24h disconnects should prevent you from running server services on the connection, for private use.

It seems to work for you.


@bestdsl What problem do you have with disconnects that couldn't be resolved by moving the time to the middle of the night? You say you have a problem but not what it is. Maybe there is another solution that can be suggested for your specific issue.

@schluej i do not run server services. You were the one saying that you are running the services.

Why do you care about my use anyway?

i play online game and i want to be online 24/7 if possible

I am sorry, as we already told you,it  is not possible to deactivate the 24 hour disconnect, so it’s not possible to be online 24/7, but i would say 23,99/7 is really close to that 😄

o2 really need to study the needs of customers who play online game. The game will disconnect the gamers when the connection is closed. It means that the gamers need to re-login every day. Default o2 routers close the connection in the mid night. In addition, one could imagine how annoying when one gamer run multiple accounts in a machine.

we cannot deactivate the disconnections and most of our costumers don´t have a problem with it. 

As schluej already suggested you  can change the time of the disconnection with a Fritz!Box.

I am sorry that we cannot provide another option for you.
