o2 offers all o2 DSL tariffs either without a minimum contract period and with only 4 weeks' notice to the end of the month or as a 24-month contract with a notice period of 3 months to the end of the minimum contract period or extension period. You therefore have a fair and transparent choice of the period for which you would like to conclude an o2 DSL contract. It is therefore advisable to consider before signing the contract that there may be reasons why you do not want to pay for the contract for 24 months.
If you have opted for a 24-month contract, you must also fulfil it until the end of the agreed contract term or renewal period. The contract does not provide for any possibility of early termination.
German law provides only one permissible exception: If the provider cannot offer the service at the new address in the event of a move. (Whereby even in this case a penalty payment of 3 months' fees is due).
Whether you want to use the o2 DSL contract at the new address or not is legally completely irrelevant. It is not about what you want, but about what is contractually agreed. The contract is binding for both parties and the contractual provisions cannot be unilaterally declared no longer wanted by the client.
Hi @Ragini,
welcome to our English Community.
Nice that blablup explained already everything to you. Thanks a lot for that.
Did you already check if DSL is available at your new address? Please have a look: internet availability
If we cannot offer DSL at the new address, we will cancel your DSL-contract with a fee of 3 months, just as blablup explained it already. Please send us in this case the deregistration-certificate of your old address and the registration certificate of your new address together with the agreement to pay the 3-month-fee.
If we do offer DSL at your new address, we need also a written notice from you together with the deregistration-certificate of your old address. In this case, you need to continue paying the invoices until the end of your duration.
I hope you understand now better your possibilities.
Loving greetings,
Tobias
