Hi,

What should i provide O2 team for the DSL cancellation?

I cancel the DSL contract because i will leave the Germany. i had an appointment with citizen’s office for the cancellation confirmation on 22th April. But due to the COVID19, this appointment was canceled. it means i cannot get the leaving confirmation from the authority. What should i do? 

i will leave Germany in the middle of May. could i use my flight ticket as the proof of my leaving? In addtion, which documents should i provide for the O2 for the cancellation? please tell me totally. i really hope anyone can help me to terminate this contract.

By the way, the O2 cancellation department still work recently? can they receive my letter?

 

When I applied for this DSL in O2 shop, there were many invisible constraints that were not told truthfully!!!I realized there are so many overlord clauses for the cancellation of the O2 DSL. For me, there was even a sense of being cheated. I clearly remembered an O2 staff in real shop told me i could easily cancel the DSL contract when i leave Germany. But now the fact is not they told me. And the O2 customer service is also so terrible, very terrible, especially for non-Germany speakers. 

 

But anyway, i just want to finish this contract as soon as possible. Actually, i begin the cancellation procedure of the DSL in this January, but until now i did’t cancel it successfully.

If you have chosen a Flex contract without a minimum contract period, you can terminate it with a notice period of 4 weeks to the end of a calendar month in text form without any further proof.

welcome to our community. As far as I know it is no problem to get the deregistration certificate in your town hall. Please ask for it by email. The will find a solution. The flight ticket is not enough.

There is no need to go personally to the citizens' office. 

Abmeldung bei der Meldebehörde
Die Abmeldung kann auch auf dem Postweg erfolgen. Wenn Sie die Wohnung schriftlich abmelden, schicken Sie bitte das Formular "Abmeldung bei der Meldebehörde" im Bereich "Formulare" ausgefüllt an ein Berliner Bürgeramt (siehe zuständige Behörden).


Die Abmeldung kann im Zeitraum von 7 Tagen vor, muss aber bis 14 Tage nach dem Auszug vorgenommen werden.
Sie erhalten eine Abmeldebestätigung.

If this is too much work for you, you can of course waive the requirement to provide proof and give a normal termination at the regular end of the contract. In this case o2 will charge you for all remaining contract months.
It is your decision what you prefer.

the circumstances in this situation sometimes make it a bit difficult to achive the desired outcome. Fortunately there are already many possibilites to solve many issues already over the internet.

In this case, @blablup provided a link to the “Abmeldeformular” that you can fill out and sent to your local authoriteis.

As statet before, a flight ticket alone is not sufficient to cancel a contract prior to its normal runtime. It would also help if you could provide some documents from the country that you are going to, for example a contract for a new working place or a copy of the renatl agreement and send this to our customer service in Nuremburg. You will find the address on every invoice just abouve your own address.
