How to do a cancellation of my DSL contract due to moving abroad?

If you plan to leave Germany for good here is the process.


Please send an extraordinary cancelation request to:

There is no special form for DSL termination. You may send a letter written in your own words.

To work the termination you have to provide the following documents:
 

  • a deregistration certificate of your present place of residence in Germany
  • a notification of your new foreign domicile
  • order if you are member of the military
  • alternatively a confirmation of your employer or landlord
  • your approval to deduct three basic charges in advance

If you have a contract without any period we will cancel without the remaining fee.

Usually you get your confirmation within three weeks notice. Please also check your spam folder if the letter is sent by email.

Be aware of the router. It has to be returned as soon as the contract is finished. Click: here to get a return label free of charge.

Take good care of the return slip! Please keep it for at least one year to be able to present it in case the router gets lost.

If you already closed your bank account for the final direct debit we kindly ask to transfer the outstanding amount by using bank information below:

To which e-mail address should these be sent?
To the e-mail of the customer who has terminated.

This comes as an answer from o2 either by letter or by mail to the customer.
