Prepaid eSIM for Galaxy Active 2 watch

Could someone describe the the process of getting an eSIM for an LTE Smart Watch. Specifically the Galaxy Active 2. Or just some key pointers to get me on track...

I am currently not a cellular O2 customer (But I do have a Home DLS service via O2)

I want the smart watch to be able to work ‘stand alone’ without the need to access a Smart Phone handset. But I do have access to a spare Samsung Handset for setup.

I’m looking at one of the Annual Prepaid tariffs with data & Voice….. But first I’m happy to work with a plain monthly prepaid tariff in case I find for some reason I can’t do what I want and then roll over to the Annual Prepaid when all is working.

I read some where that you order a standard SIM, (Which I have done but waiting on delivery) and then convert it to an eSIM? or do you add an eSIM to this? The Idea of having a standard SIM in a handset with the eSIM working in the watch with the same telephone number could be a benefit? so long as they don’t interfere with each other?

Regards

Oliver

Hi @Olly0183

welcome to our English Community here.

Did I understand you correctly that you would like to use eSIM with a prepaid-card?

Unfortunately, I have to say that we only offer Multicards together with a postpaid-tariff. Of course, we also offer tariffs with a cancellation-period of one month. So, you have the possibility to test your Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Please find further information here: o2 tariffs Just click on the button “ohne Laufzeit” (without duration).

If you have any further questions, just let me know.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

Hi @o2_Tobias

Do all your contract tariffs (postpaid) come with an e-sim option, or are they only available on specific monthly plans?

Hi @The Reverend

welcome to our English Community. Nice to meet you here.

Thanks for your request concerning the activation of an eSIM-card.

Yes, you can activate an additional eSIM with all postpaid-contracts. But please be aware that you need a multicard in order to activate an eSIM. Normally, a multicard will be charged with 4,99 € per month (additionally 39,99 € activation fee) or with 10 € additionally for all our o2 Free Unlimited-tariffs.

Only our o2 Free Boost-tariffs include a multicard for free. In these tariffs is included a Connect-Option

If you need any further help to activate an eSIM, just let me know.

Loving greetings,

Tobias
