Very Low speed with O2 HomeSpot

The last month, my internet speed has been very low, below 2 Mb/s. My plan is O2 my Home M (2020). I've checked the network status at my address, and the system indicates there are some issues. What can I do? With this speed, it's impossible to watch videos on YouTube.

Hello @Katie P

first of all, welcome to our community 🤗 Great, that you have contacted us, albeit with an unpleasant issue.

If there are restrictions at the base stations near your address, you can report them via our Livecheck. You will then be informed of the status by SMS.

In addition, you can also give us an approximate address here and we'll take a look for you :)

Best regards
Cora

Edit o2_Cora 24.05.24: Address removed

Hello @Katie P

please do not share your exact address here in the future. I have now removed the address and of course had a look at it beforehand.

One nearby base station is actually reporting restrictions, which are expected to be resolved by this evening 🙂

There are also two other base stations nearby where no restrictions are apparent. So you could try pointing your HomeSpot in their direction (east or southeast). If possible, place the HomeSpot near a window.

Please let us know if the speeds have improved after tonight or if the repositioning of the router may have helped :)

Best regards
Cora

Hi @o2_Cora

Nothing has changed, the speed is still very low. The hardware error warning remains. The router is already placed on the window in the eastern part of the apartment.

Hello @Katie P,

that is not so nice that the signal did not improve at your address. I see that a base station does report an overload due to high usage.

When the router is already facing east it doies face towards base station which are not reporting an overload.

Best Regards,

Gerrit
