Hello, I'm experiencing lately extremely slow connections. Normal video conferencing have lots of lags, freezes and low quality (sound and video). Doing some speed tests I see my download rate as around 10 Mbps while on the DSL information on the router the bandwidth is 113 Mbps.

While gaming I also experience high latency and general slowness.

Please make sure that your devices are connected with a LAN cable, not Wi-Fi.

Yes, unfortunately this is not possible in my home. I noticed that although the wifi signal indicator shows full strength everywhere in the house, the download rate is dramatically different.

If you select a Wi-Fi channel that is in use by other Wi-Fi networks, you will have a bad performance. Actually, the high signal strength is also a disadvantage: Wi-Fi devices of the neighbours interfere with your devices and your Wi-Fi devices interfere with those of the neighbours. Try a 5 GHz Wi-Fi channel that is not in use by any of your neighbours.

Hello @juliano7s and welcome back to our o2 community :-)

If you are connecting to the router via WiFi there are a lot of possible causes why you might get a slow connection or even connection losses. Since the network around 2.4GHz is used by a lot of devices not only in your household but also by neighbours all devices that are close enough to recieve a signal from the router will interfere with it. A solution for this may be, as @blablup already suggested to switch to the network around 5GHz. This has less reach and hence will be influenced less by other devices.

Another solution may also be to use wifi repeaters to enhance the signal where you need it. :-)

Regards,

Lars
