Contract cancellation due to moving out


I made an O2 DSL contract in Bonn, Germany. I have moved out to a new apartment which Studierendenwerk Bonn offers. They have their internet connection which is included in my rent.  Now I want to cancel my O2 DSL contract because I cannot shift it to my new apartment.  I tried online cancellation and I also called on helpline and visited O2 counters but they are not listening to me. I am paying without using the internet service. 

I don’t know how to get rid of this. Can anyone guide me please

Moin Moin,

You have to request a move from O2. If the connection cannot be switched on at the same speed, you can cancel. Or if the connection cannot be switched on.
A move does not entitle you to cancel before the end of the contract term.

Next time the contract should be a flex contract!

welcome to our o2 Community 😀

For an extraordinary, early termination of your contract, we require a written cancellation from you.

You can use our online termination form for this. Please note that a detailed reason for the termination must be submitted and please also provide your new address.

The cancellation must be “außerordentlich”. You can also upload documents there, if neccessary.

Our cancellation department will then examine the case and inform you in writing.

Alternatively, you can also submit a request to move. If this cannot be carried out, the contract will also be terminated early. However, processing may take a little longer.

I submitted a detailed written application online for contract termination. They asked me to send contract documents by post, which I did more than one month ago, but they still haven't replied. I dont know how to contact them because on the helpline call they are not helping me. I am paying without using the service. At the time of the contract, they were very friendly but now they are behaving very rude.

I could take a look, did you sent the Anmeldebescheinigung/registration certificate for your new adress to our adresse Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG Kundenbetreuung 90345 Nürnberg?

Also I see that a move is ordered for your contract in two weeks time.

I sent the requensted documents by post. I am not sure now if I attached the registration certificate. But I attached online while applying for cancellation.

If you share an email, I can sent my new city address registration certificate. Or if you need only by post I can share also. my email is:  riaztbsm@gmail.com.

I just filled the movement as suggested by you. May be then I will get feedback for cancellation.
