o2 Homebox 6471 drops internet

Hi,

Recently I got the router 02 Homebox 6471 and everything works fine but from time to time the internet is gone, and the router restarts automatically (the Info light turns red and the whole router restarts again). This happens from 2 to 2 hours, approx. What could it be? Just for extra information, when there is internet the WLAN, DSL, Internet, and Telefon lights are on, although I don’t have any telephone connected (is this not weird?)

Vielen Dank,

Deian

Hello @hrehor,

welcome to our o2 Community!

These disconnects can have many different causes. First of all, please check all cable connections for loose contacts. Please do not use any extension cables or multiple sockets and only use the original cables if possible. If the cables are all in order, please carry out a power reset: To do this, pull the plug of the switched-on router out of the socket. Wait 10 minutes. After the power reset, the DSL LED lights up permanently for approx. 10-15 seconds and then starts to flash. After approx. 60 seconds the Power / DSL LED should light up continuously, the homebox is online again. The Internet and telephone LEDs should also light up again after a short time. (The telefon LED is also lightend if no telefone is connected.)

Then please leave the router switched on permanently. Do not perform another power reset. If the interruptions occur again, please call our technical support. You can find the phone number here http://g.o2.de/aMS under step 3.

Alternatively, you can also use our o2 My Service App for troubelshooting. It can also be switched to English language. Please find more information in our English FAQ.

Best regards,

Giulia
