DSL contract owner change

Hello,

Last week I sent the request to change the owner of my DSL contract to the new renter of my apartment. Two days later I've received an email with the following answer:

My questions would be: which are the technical reasons for which the change is not possible at the moment? Will I be contacted when this will be possible? I have already left the apartment so I would like to solve this issue ASAP.

Thanks

o2 decided to move all new and existing o2 customers data to a new database, which has not all the functionality of the old system. According to the letter you received, there are plans for the future to integrate the functionally for the service you ask for. The service of a contract holder change is therefore no longer offered. If it is offered again, you can see and do this direct in "Mein o2". You will get no further notification.
I would not expect this to happen soon as there has been no change for more than 2 years.
Hello Blablup,
Thank you for the answer. I hope this is not correct because it doesn't make sense at all. The form to fill in is still online, and as far as I have seen this change isn't mentioned anywhere on the website. I am now out of the country and a new renter is in my apartment, using an internet connection that I am paying for. This should not happen.

The form is for the customers whose data are still stored in the old database. These customers have a customer number like DE12345678. Contract holder change can only be offered for those customers (who didn't had the system migration yet).

Why don't you cancel your contract like any other? For maximum flexibility o2 offers all contracts also without minimum contract period and with only 4 weeks notice to the end of the month.
My notice is of three months and only after the minimum contract period (two years) has expired. I anticipated to stay six months longer so I did not stipulate a flexible contract.

That said, I received no warning about the fact that the owner change is apparently not possible for me, and this is not acceptable.

That's not exactly correct.

With a 24 month contract the following applies:
Contracts with a minimum term of 24 months are extended after expiration of the minimum term by each additional 12 months, as far as they are not cancelled with a notice period of 3 months to the end of the minimum term or to the end of a respective extension period.

So it's in general a bad choice if you don't stay permanently at the same place.

I can not imagine why anyone should want to take over your contract. There are fees for this and you lose all discounts. Compared to a new customer offer that is a bad deal.

If you have moved abroad permanently, you can terminate the contract as a special arrangement with a notice period of 3 months to the end of the month. The period begins at the earliest with the date of the move abroad. For the necessary documents you can orient yourself on this form (there is no form for DSL contracts).
