Where to call for English help?

Hello, I need to cancel my contract, because in three months from now I will unemployed, my residence permit to stay in Germany expires and I will return to my home country. I obtained a  Kündigungsvormerkung online, a temporary reservation for the cancelation of my contract. I called the phone number provided but nobody apparently spoke English. I went ahead with my German, after three failed attempts I needed to do something. Unfortunately, the gentleman who pick up my call told me at the end, very frustrated also for my lack of understanding, that I will get a letter by post. I am not sure what happened and I need to know where do I check the status of my contract and where can one get help in English. I am afraid this man may have done something I did not want simply because he was frustrated with my German.

For the advance cancellation of o2 mobil contract  we need a copy of one of this documents:

  • logoff certificate in Germany
  • registration certificate in another country
  • tenancy agreement in another country
  • contract of employment in another country

Remenber please about the down payment of 3 basic charges.

Hello Daria,

I bought my 24 month contract on Jan 2015 and now I wanted to cancel my contract because I am frequently going abroad due to my job commitment. On "My O2" online page which I checked few months before this is what it said:  

"Contract start: 01/17/2017 End of contract: 01/16/2018 Extendable from: 18/12/2017". So by the rule I applied to terminate my contract 3 months in advance online through "My O2". I also spoke with one of your colleague on the phone regarding my contract but due to the language barrier she told me to wait for my termination letter. Today I received my contract termination letter and it says my contract is going to deactivate on 15.01.2019. Could you please point me to a right direction with this. I still want to cancel my contract.

Did you cancel the contract before 10/15/2017? If not, the contract was automatically prolonged for another year and can now be cancelled only with effect  to the end of the prolonged term.

When did you do this? Did you then call the special phone number which was announced online in order to confirm the cancellation? This call is necessary for an effective cancellaton.

How @Omikron writes, it´s necessary to call our hotline in 10 days after  online Canceling of Regestration (Kündigungsvormerkung). 

You may  send to us a new cancelling (like extraordinare termination) by post with a copy of one of this documents:

  • logoff certificate in Germany
  • registration certificate in another country
  • tenancy agreement in another country
  • contract of employment in another country
 

Remenber please about the down payment of 3 basic charges.
