Network connection speed too slow

Hi folks,

Please excuse me writing in English but I don't know enough technical German to write this.

I have a 2 mbit DSL connection.

I live in a terraced house and my neighbours on both sides still have DT lines. They both have 6 mbit internet connections.

When I use the "DSL Availability" checker on the main O2 page, I'm informed that 6 mbit is available for me not the paltry 2 that I receive.

I have a Homebox 2 and have disconnected from the wall and switched it off for ten minutes but still only 2 mbit.

Is there anything else I can do?

5 days and ignored by O2.

I guess my problem can only be fixed by changing to another provider.

Is anyone from O2 actually reading this?

Why do my next door neighbours have 6mbit lines from Telekom but I only have a 2mbit line from O2 when I was informed that I would receive 6mbit?

Did O2 lie to me?

What's going on here?

Hi Chris,

I am no O2 employee so I can't really help you, but in some cases here in the forum problems like this have been fixed by O2 staff. In these cases O2 contacted the Telekom (which owns most of the infrastructure / cables that connect to the individual houses) and was able to get a different DSL profile for the customers which resulted in better speeds.

However I can't guarantee that to you, if you still don't receive any reply from O2 here you could try to contact them via phone. Whether the support agents can speak English or not is unknown to me, as I am German myself.

your contract is already cancelled. I cant ask for a higher dsl profil in this order status.

My contract is not cancelled.

My contract runs until August 2016.
