Ordering a new 02 phone with contract when I already have a mobile number with o2

I already have an o2 number and contract, only for the mobile services without a phone (phone is already paid out but was also purchased via o2).

Now I want to order a new phone and keep my  number.

Does this happen automatically if I order online?

Can I have two sim cards for the same number when I order online?

I would love to be able to use both my old and new phone with the same number.

What do I need to do to make sure the process works smoothly when i order my new phone and contract online? It doesn’t give much clear info or steps while attempting to do it online.

your help is much appreciated.

A new order does not terminate an existing contract, but in order to have a ‘Partnerkarte’ you would need to keep the first contract. As the name suggests, a ‘Partnerkarte’ is a second contract on the same account, for your partner or someone else in your family, for example.

You can order a phone at any time. This has nothing to do with the mobile contract.

Which tarif do you have? It might be possible to order an additional SIM with the same number for a second phone.

I have o2 free m tariff.

I want to switch to this: iPhone 15 Pro Max mit Tarif O2 Mobile M Boost Partnerkarte mit 50 GB+ , which includes the tariff.

i guess this means my previous contract will need to be cancelled, and changed to the new phone that includes the tariff.

what i want to know is if this happens automatically when i make the order for the new phone as an o2 customer or if i have to do it manually myself
