hi, my sim card/phone is stolen and i can no longer log into o2online. i’m afraid the thief has used the sms login feature to reset my password. what can i do to protect my account?

ok. awesome. thanks!  ironically i wasn’t able to call internationally to germany to block my SIM, but today i got the phone back from the police!!! woo hoo!!!

but now i know i can block the SIM right away for safety and restart it later.. i’ll be a bit more diligent about logging into myO2online more regularly to keep access.

also, i’m travelling so it’s not as simple as requesting a new sim to my old address. i want to just turn off the sim until i have a chance to recover it. or at least access my o2online to see if someone is actually using it or not.. or maybe there’s some control over it i can have there?

hey, i just want to loginto o2online but how without my sim!!!!!????? you keep insisting on sending me a temp password, which is now probably prompting the thieves to try logging into MY ACCOUNT!!!!! total lack of SAFETY!!! in theft situations!!!!!! i didn’t know you were gonna just send a damn code to my stolen phone!!!!!

why would you do that without confirmation or warning!!!!! you just say enter your number here and start shooting off codes to whoeverrrrrrr!!! aaaahhhahahahhhhhhasaaaaaaahhhh!!!!

not good. not safe.

Hallo @tonyyyyyyyy,
welcome to the o2 community. It's nice to see you here. Even if it's not for a good reason. First of all, your SIM card should be blocked. Have you already ordered this? Are you using a contract or a prepaid card?
Best regards
Bianca

is it possible to allow me to attempt my password a few more times?? you guys keep changing your password standards and i’ve been a customer since like 2005-6ish.. maybe 2007, but all this password changing is soooo insecure.. i have to start keeping a log of all my passwords because there’s no way a human mind can remember 20 different 12 digit hard passwords!!!! that’s not the weak point. the weak point is someone getting a hold of your phone and simply getting a password reset to your email or sms which they can easily access on your phone if it’s freshly stolen (or borrowed!)

o2 prepaid must be the worst service to have if your phone is stolen!!!

the thieves have better access to your personal data and prepaid credit without any passwords than i have with!!!

crazy!

security based solely on physical possession of a tiny electronic device with zero security redundancy is quatsch! oder? yeah my phone is locked with a code, but everyone typically gets sms message previews (if not the entire message) even on their lockscreen.. so these dudes could access soooooooooooo much with having stolen my phone.. reset banking passcodes, email passcodes, sooooo much by just receiving passcode reset codes on my phone which is totally out of my control.. because you are blocking out access to the actual account owner. me!

ridiculous. i have like 3EUR left on my skype account now and can’t waste it on a maybe, plus i have a lot of other important calls to make especially now since 40% of my calling capacity was wiped in just one wasted call to o2!!! :(

there was an option in the beginning when i called that number to sperr the sim. can i eventually un-sperr it later if i get it back and then just use the same sim card again?
