Terminate my o2 contract


Dear customer servie,

I signed a 2-year contract which began to be effective in May 2013 and my package costs 24,99 euros per month. I want to cancel this contract. The reason is that I will leave Germany and go to Taiwan for exchange program. I will leave Germany on July 19th, 2014. Therefore, I would like to officially cancel my contract before July 19! I now have following documents;

(1)    Photocopy of my passport

(2)    Photocopy of my Germany visa (to prove that it only lasts until end of July 2014)

(3)    Photocopy of my Taiwan visa (to prove that I will really go to Taiwan)

(4)    Photocopy of Taiwanese university’s exchange student admission letter (to prove that I will really join the exchange program)

(5)    Photocopy of airplane ticket (to prove that I will leave Germany on July 19, 2014)

I think the company also wants the leaving-the-city form from the city in Germany that I live in now. This is a problem because the city hall only allows me to process the leaving-the-city form on July 17, 2014. And another problem is I will close my Deutsche bank account on July 18, 2014. So, there's no way o2 can deduct next month's premium and penalty fee from my account. My questions are;

1. What other documents does the company need in order to let me cancel my contract?

2. After I get my leaving-the-city form on July 17, I can fax to company and can company deduct the premium for June and July as well as penalty fees from my Deutsche bank account on July 18, 2014?

3. How much do I have to pay in total?

I've just sent a form, we need filled in and signed together with the documents you mentioned, to the emailaddress you use here. The procedure and also contact details are given in it. Does that help? Any more questions?

Thank you so much! I have received your email. I have further questions regarding the following documents.

 

1. a certificate of cancelling the registration of your present place of residence

 

I can fax to o2 on July 17, 2014

2. a notification of your new, foreign domicile

 

What do you mean by notification? Do you want a house rental contract from Taiwan? for this case, it might be difficult as i have not started looking for a house in Taiwan and I can only do it after I am there. Can I send you a photocopy of email from the university I will study at? They will send me the notification that I am selected to live at their university dorm. But it is only the email since I can only sign real contract with them after I am in Taiwan. Is it possible? 

3. alternatively a confirmation of your employer or landlord

I think for this case, you mean admission letter of accepting me as an exchange student in Taiwan, right?

 

4. Finally, If I fax all the documents to you on July 17, 2014. Can the company deduct all the fees on July 18, 2014?

I am leaving Germany by the end of January 2015 and need to cancel my internet/landline package.

I have an unlimited contract since 3 years and 2 months, and a 4 weeks notice period to give.

My understanding is that I have to write my cancellation letter to your address in Hamburg, but I read here that there is a termination form to be filled. 

Can you please send me this form and a list of your required information by email?

you only need to fill out a form if you wish to cancel a mobile contract to earlier date due to moving abroad. 


Since you mentioned that you have a 4 weeks notice period, a simple cancellation letter with the customer number and your signature will do.

In october 2014 i have signed a 24 month contract with O2 for 34.99 Euros Which includes Handy for 25 € and 9.99 € for tariff. Now due to some problem i am going back to my home country and want to end my contract till February 2015. So i want to ask if i have to pay remaining amount of my contract  if yes then how much? Details of my contract are mentioned below:



Handy : Sony Xperia z3   Cost: 601 euro

Tariff:    O2 Blue All-in M Cost: 9.99 (5 euro young people discount and 12 euro discount for handy with tariff)

Thanks a lot marc, I have received your email and hopefully I’ll send the required documents after Christmas holidays. I want to ask if my handy contract will also be terminated or I’ll have to pay the rest of the amount and secondly how much will be the basic fee of 3 months for my plan? 9.99 * 3 euro or 25 * 3 euro? Because my tariff plan was “O2 Blue All-in M” due to the fact that I bought handy with tariff so I got “Junge Leute and Hardware Rabatt” discount so my tariff plan was 9.99 euro per month. Thanks

the My-Handy-contract could be deactivated earlier, so that you could pay the rest of the amount. You can request it here.

 

The basic fee of three month will be calculated without Junge Leute and Hardware Rabatt.

Hello:

I'm moving to Canada and want to cancel my o2 contract. I've been in o2 store 1 month ago and clerk help my print out cancelation letter and I also attached abmeldung and I sent evrything by post to o2.

Now its been over 1 month and i didnt recieve any reply from o2 about my cancelation and I still paying monthly bills.

Do you know what i should do?

In order to terminate your contract we also need the registration certificate of your new foreign domicile.

In case you do not have these yet, you may also send us a confirmation of your employer or a copy of your rental agreement.

Furthermore, we need your approval to charge you the basic fee for three months in order to terminate your contract prematurely.

A letter has been sent to your contact address in September.

I didnt recieve letter cause Im no longer live in Germany i moved to Poland and Im moving to Canada in January.

Is sending of the contract of Canadian Emploi would be enough?

And can I send it scan by email or by post?

Hello;

I have a o2 Blue All-in M contract. That just got renewed in August 31st. I need to leave the country, I already send a letter, but without the documents. Will you please send me the formular, the times and whether if I have to pay the minimum fee. I cannot afford to pay a whole year of 40€ a month if not more.

I have receive confirmation email that my contract has been canceled.

But i got still 2 questions:

1. I read here that I still need to pay for 3 months, but can I check

somewhere exact date for how long I will still need pay upcoming invoices?

2. Is there gonna be 1 big invoice charging me for 3 months, or i going to

receive for next 3 months  1 invoice every month.

after your account is canceled and your sim-card deactivated, you must pay your standing charge three times. We take the charge from your bank account with the last invoice.
