VPN trouble

Hi,

Since a couple of days I am having issues with my VPN connection. it uset to work flawless, but that suddenly changed. The Kundenservice advised me to write an email to info@o2online.de. But that email address does not work..

It concerns a connection between 2 fritz!boxes. The VPN connection uses IPSEC. The connection is made, however I cannot send files. This is extremely annoying since I cannot work from home right now. I have the feeling that UDP packets do not arrive.

In the past I experienced the same issue using an PPTP vpn connection. Could this be an issue after a firmware update of the O2 router?

I hope to get an aswer soon, I need this connection  for my work.

Thanks in advance,

Erwin

I look forward to your effort winegum!

It would be good to have an alternative for the 6431 box.

Keep me posted.

All right.  I got the new o2 homebox aka AVM 7490.  After some initial issues with the box not being unlocked for the network (because it is brand new), it now works like a charm.

The udp issue is gone.  Turns out the 6431 was the problem after all.

Thanks a lot!! That is what I wanted to get confirmed.

This means that O2 is not delivering a unrestricted internet connection if they supply a 6431. So far they did not repond to my canellation request.

This means that they will have to send me a fritz.box 7490 or accept my cancellation. I am definitely not willing to pay for an upgrade. I want a working connection without restrictions.  That is what I ordered, but was never delivered.

to be continued...

Hi,

Same story, just with openvpn (using udp).

So any news? Did you try with the fritz.box?

Hi,

See these links

Why does O2 block UDP ports?

VPN Verbindung über o2 Router 6431

O2 und VPN GRE protokoll

I now have a 3390 fritz box connected and all my issues are resolved. Different VPN protocols all work without a problem and I now have a continuous VPN connection between fritz boxes.

Too bad you can't burn the 6431. O2 wants it back if you cancel the contract???

What the actual **bleep** O2!

yesterday I called them with this issue and I was told I would get the fritzbox for free, but today I got a bill for 99,00 euros plus 9 euros verzendüngskosten.

And when I called to ask why I have to pay for bad internet they just hang up. Nice.

no crosspostings please!

I would like as many people as possible to know how O2 deals with this madness so they won't make the mistake that I made.

Providing a bad Internet connection and asking another 100 euros to fix the problem they themselves created.

Are you really shure? Read your own thread and don´t spam

That's fine, but spamming will achieve just the opposite. And at the end of the day it is a problem you are having and other people may not.

Hi, i have the same problem and I expect a solution from O2 (a solution that doesnt cost 99 additional euros)
