Retention of o2 number after contract termination

I recently ended my O2 contract and have travelled to India for a holiday. My phone shows no signal from the network provider. Is it possible to recharge this number online, or is it no longer possible to get it back?

Once you've canceled, the SIM card won't be activated again. And using it in India would be far too expensive.

It is possible for up to 30 days after deactivation of a postpaid contract to reactivate a phone number and its contract, but using it in India would be expensive as Bumer wrote, use of data is 1,49 € / MB.
