O2 Free Unlimited Max Contract Data Usage in Europe (during Urlaub)

Hello O2 community,

I am currently utilizing an O2 Free Unlimited Max contract for my SIM card, which is linked to my O2 My Home XS account. While in Germany, I am fortunate enough to enjoy unlimited data usage.

However, I am planning a vacation to Italy and I am uncertain about the data traffic limits there. Can anyone provide information regarding the amount of data traffic available when using this contract in Italy or any other European country?

Your guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards.

Hello @Carminoski,

In the Unlimited Max (2020) it's 46.72GB, and in the Unlimited Max (2021) it's 56.07GB.

Best regards

In the picture below, the only  data I received after the plane landed at Rome Fiumicino Airport. At the moment , all I can do is just phone calls. The phone did not display 4G/5G at all.

Hello @Carminoski ,

the usage of your contract outside of Germany is not being blocked, as such you should be able to use it just normally while in Rome. Maybe try manually selecting the net.

Kind regards, Sven

I think I am in the same situation illustrated in this conversation:

I pay a lot of money and I don't have the service I paid for.

I tried to connect to WIND/Tre, to Tim , to Iliad… nothing works. I've always been kicked out.
Thanks O2 for this amazing vacation

I had the chance to connect to Iliad 4G for 15/20 minutes, but then I have been kicked out .
This is not fair. The contract I signed and the EU rules state something different.

Hello @Carminoski, you are still in Italy?

Which Smartphone do you use?

Can you connect or see the roaming partner Vodafone Italia S.p.A? Only 2G is supposed to be available there, but it's better than nothing.

Best regards

Steffen

Hey @Carminoski,

Restrictions in the network can also occur in foreign networks. Especially in metropolitan areas, an overload is possible during the vacation season. My colleague has tried to show you an alternative. Perhaps you could answer the questions so that we can help you here.

Greetings,
Flo
