Hello dear 02 community

Past two weeks my WiFi gets disconnected automatically. Every time it happens I log into this 02 app and click the Problemlösung and then follow the steps. It gets connected back. This repeats every other day. What could be the reason and solution? I haven't tried restarting the router because i had last year very bad experience from restarting it as the internet wouldn't get connected automatically and I had to call customer care. When the WiFi gets disconnected I checked the other devices just to make sure it was not the problem of my phone. The other devices also didn't have. So it is not the problem of my mobile or any other devices

Could somebody help me? Thank you.

Hallo guys I want to give a quick update. I took the help of Google Gemini and addressed the issue. It guided me step by step to find the issue. I did a complete reset by clicking onto the reset hole as advised by Gemini. After that it told me to log into 192.168.1.1 in browser and to change onto frequency 5g and change the channel from   108 to channel no. 36 .  it's been three days now without any automatic WiFi disconnection . I hope the problem has been resolved. Am assuming there was a glitch and after I reset the router it started to get cleared. I wanted to call the O2 customer care but since it's been working am leaving it as such. Thank you all for your time and follow ups. If I encounter the same problem again I will update here once more.

Ok. And does the router losing its mobile connection or are you losing the wifi signal?

If you lost the mobile connection have you checked on https://www.o2online.de/netz/netzstoerung/ for a fault or report it.

Hello @Sy21 ,
what happens if you take the SIM card out of the homespot and put it in a mobile phone?
Will you then have an internet connection?
If there is no fault at your address, please contact the hotline.
Kind regards,
Solveig

I have not tried that. But I have tried connecting other devices like laptop to the WiFi.  But it's not working in those devices also. Once I log into the O2 service app and run the Problemlösung option, WiFi gets again automatically connected back to all the devices. So it's not the problem with my phone. I have checked if there is a störungmeldung in my area. But there is none.

Hey @Sy21 ,

I see, in that case there might very well be an issue with the router itself 😕 to make sure it would be good to quickly check if the SIM from your router is working fine when put into another device, like a phone, as my colleague Solveig wrote. If the SIM works flawlessy in another device and the connection doesn’t break off, it’s a clear sign that the router is defective.

The next step wouldbe to call our colleagues → o2 contact

We also have an English speaking hotline if you’re not comfortable speaking German 🌼

Kind regards, Rebecca
