What happens if I cancel the O2 contract in Germany? Can I still use the numebr without any contract?

 I'm curious about the implications of canceling my O2 contract in Germany. Specifically, I want to know if I can still use the same phone number after canceling. My contract is set to end in 15 days, and I'd like to understand whether canceling would result in losing my number.

yes if you cancel you will lost the number…With in 85 days you are able to port (Portierung) the number to a new contract (sim).
