Urgent Request to Terminate SIM and Stop Unwarranted Charges

Dear O2 Customer Service Team,

I am writing to address a concerning issue regarding my O2 account. I purchased an iPhone with a two-year contract from O2 in 2022, which ended in October 2024. Prior to the contract’s expiration, I received a call from O2 inquiring if I would like to continue with the SIM number after the contract ended. I clearly stated that I would not be continuing with the O2 SIM after October.

Since the contract ended, all payments have been completed, and I stopped using the O2 SIM card in November 1st, 2024. However, I was surprised to receive an invoice yesterday indicating that my SIM card is still active and that charges are being deducted for internet usage.

 

Given that:

1. My contract ended in October 2024.

2. I explicitly stated that I did not wish to continue using the SIM.

3. I have not used the SIM since November 2024.

 

I kindly request the following actions:

1. Immediate termination of the SIM card and associated services, if not already terminated.

2. Reversal of any charges applied to my account post-October 2024.

3. Confirmation that no further deductions will occur from my account.

 

I trust that O2 will resolve this matter promptly to prevent any further inconvenience. Please confirm once the issue has been resolved or let me know

It is irrelevant whether you used the SIM or not if the contract has not been terminated.

@RhobarDerIII was thinking about a different situation it seems.

Can you prove that you did not use the SIM card after October? If not, this is the problem, if yes then I would send the receipt to O2.

O2 receives the data from the partners in other EU countries when the card was used and if it was used after October then you have to pay for it.

Edit: You have to terminate the contract by your self.

I think the problem is that you didn't terminate the contract. The phone is paid after 24 installments but the mobile contract does not end automatically. If you want to terminate it you can do so here:

Yes in my o2 app it’s also showing 0mb consumed. Can I show it as a proof?

Yes I have applied termination through the link you gave today. Hope that they will terminate it this way.

As the minimum term is over, the contract can be terminated atcsny time with a month's notice, so if you submitted the termination request today it will end in January.

Although very late, I would still like to reply. I apologize, your post seems to have been lost here 😔
You have already received good support here. Did everything work out with your termination, which you did online afterwards? Did you receive a confirmation of termination?
