Hello, unfortunately I had an accident at work and I have to leave Germany. I have been dismissed from my job and have to leave the company accommodation on October 5. On September 30, I am going to leave my place of residence. I have a 24-month HomeSpot 5g 100mb/s contract with a rented router. When going to an o2 store, is it enough to return the router with the card and show the check-out form from the place of residence? Unfortunately, I have a problem with registering in a new country because I don't really know where I will live. I have to stay in a friend's apartment and then look for an apartment on my own.

 


@Bumer What about a rented router? Can I return it to the store where I picked it up or is it necessary to send it by courier?

Of course I don't know what happened, but I hope you are doing reasonably well despite the accident.💙

I recommend that you send the return to us via the returns portal, as Bumer has already linked to: Rücksendeportal - Startseite (o2online.de) You can print out the return label or download a QR code containing the mobile return label. The return is free of charge and will be handled by DHL.

Honestly, my head is exploding from all the documentation related to leaving Germany and insurance issues 😂

Tomorrow I'm going to check out from my address in Germany. I will also have confirmation of registration and new address from my country as well as confirmation from my father that I will be living in his house. Will these documents be enough to terminate the contract?

I will also write a handwritten confirmation that I allow the 3-month basic rate to be charged from my account for terminating the contract 🫣

I also have a QR code with which I can return the router that was rented. The day after tomorrow I will go to the DHL point to send it. Should I also send back the sim card?

I can understand that, it is certainly exhausting. 😅

I have seen that you have already received this confirmation from us, but you will definitely need the

-Official deregistration confirmation from Germany for your address stored in our contract with the stamp. 

-Signature of the German registration office and your registration certificate for your new place of residence abroad or alternatively a confirmation from your new landlord or employer.

Regarding the SIM card, as soon as the contract is deactivated it no longer works anyway. So you don't necessarily have to send it back.

Hi O2 team, I would like to ask you at what stage is the processing of my contract termination? I have sent all the necessary documents in the online application and sent the router back. When can I expect some kind of confirmation by e-mail and the last invoice? :)

it's great that you've contacted us with your question. In general, the cancellation should be processed and confirmed as quickly as possible. You submitted the cancellation via the contact form and also received a confirmation of receipt? Is it a cancellation with notice or a special cancellation?

Right after I submitted my resignation, I received a confirmation of the termination, which I downloaded in a pdf file, and a message that my resignation was being processed. I used a special cancellation because my contract ended and I had to return to my home country, but I haven't received any confirmation by email or an invoice for the 3-month "penalty" period :)

Well I got another bill for €28 despite my contract being terminated? What stage is my contract termination process at? I feel cheated at this point. Despite sending all the documents, sending the router back, I am still being charged for the internet which I no longer use.

I sent the router back, I also sent confirmation of registration at a new address in Poland with a stamp and deregistration from the old address in Germany, but I am still being charged for using the internet. When can I expect a decision on my termination?


2 weeks ago I used an extraordinary termination of the contract due to moving abroad. I sent the router back, sent the necessary documents such as: deregistration from the German address, registration in the new country with a stamp, permission to withdraw the 3-month basic rate from the bank account. I received a confirmation of receipt of the termination, but I still have not received a specific email and confirmation that the contract has been terminated. How long do I have to wait?

I used the online form 2 weeks ago, I have confirmation that the notice was sent, but still no decision.

I don't quite understand what you mean. My contract has ended for now, but the end of the payment period will be in 2 years as stated in the contract? So you are still processing my documents that I sent and I have to wait for a decision? Once a decision is made, the contract will be completely terminated and only the 3-month rate will be charged?To which email should I send the confirmation of termination?


Apparently I didn't notice that I had to set the end date of the contract. I sent the application with documents again in which I set tomorrow's end date using the extraordinary option. Is everything correct now?

I got an email saying that the contract will be terminated on November 2, 2024, today (11/11/2024) I received another invoice by email for €20, what's going on? „menu O2” Also said that the contract ends this month. The only thing I see now is "technical difficulties". Can you finally terminate my contract?

 


That was your final invoice, as invoices are created retroactively.
