Hello! Im planning to go to France in December and I wanna choose a good tariff for using data abroad. Can u please help me and reccomend smth?

Edit o2_Bianca: Moved from Broadband&Landline to Mobile

Hello @nataliebl

welcome to the o2 community and thank you for your contribution! 😊

Are you already using an o2 contract?
Or are you looking for something completely new?

In general, I can tell you that the EU roaming option is integrated in all o2 contracts. With France as another EU country, you can also use your data volume from Germany for free in France with an o2 contract.

Or are you dealing with a prepaid request?

Kind regards
Jessi

Yes, Im looking a new one, and i dont know how to use data abroad… :(

Hello @nataliebl

okay, we can look at that together. 😊
Here's how it works: if you sign a new contract with o2 (I'm talking about a term contract now), it includes the following options, for example:

Here is our o2 Free M as an example. There you will find the EU Roaming option.
EU Roaming means the following:

I translate this to English:

EU roaming
You surf with the data volume included in your tariff also in other EU countries*.
You call and write SMS in the EU and from there to Germany without additional costs
You pay no roaming charges for incoming calls within the EU
* Further notes and footnotes
The services of the tariffs (calls, SMS, data - without 5G) can also be used in world zone 1 (other EU countries, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein). Excessive use of the services in world zone 1 will be subject to surcharges in accordance with the EU fair use policy.

With this contract option, you have the direct possibility to use your data abroad. You do not have to do anything else.
For example, I was in France this year, I also have an o2 contract and I was able to use all functions normally - calls, SMS and my data volume at my normal domestic conditions.

Was I able to answer your questions?

Kind regards
Jessi 😊

Btw.: with abroad I mean here France e.g. EU countries! Just because you asked for France 😊

In other countries outside of the EU other conditions and prices occur!

thank you a lot:)

Hello,

I am currently using an O2 contract sim. I am planning to visit the USA later in November and looking at options on how I could use my data package I have with O2 and my number in the USA for my three week trip.

As a point of reference I would like to have an option to use around 5 GB to 10 GB during the 3 week period

Thanks in advance

@Internet-explorer

o2 has no Options for an USA Trip.

Hello @Internet-explorer,

What's your tariff called?

Best regards

Hey @Internet-explorer,

welcome to the o2 community.
You have actually already received the correct answers. Unfortunately, we do not offer any options for the United States. You can find all information about our roaming offers here:

Greetings,
Flo

I am trying to understand the roaming charges (if any!) for my o2 Grow flex plan. If I were to be in France and make a phone call to Germany, do I have to pay?

If I were to make a phone call from Germany to France, I would have to pay?

If I were to make a phone call from my O2 landline to a France number, will I be charged?

No is covered by EU roaming.

If I were to make a phone call from Germany to France, I would have to pay?

yes, it is not covered by your flat rate.

Hello @SKR0407,

welcome to our o2 community 🙂

It is like Bumer wrote, your o2 Grow plan does have the flatrates covering you abroad in EU countries, whereas for calls and SMS from Germany to EU Countries fees do occur according to our price list. You also can order options to make calls from Germany abroad less expenisive, which you can find on page 3 of the price list.

Best Regards,

Gerrit

Hello @SKR0407,

calls from o2 German landlines to numbers in EU countries also cost extra, you can find the price list here.
