Hello,
I had a prepaid O2 number that I have now concluded with O2. I have opened a contract with another provider and I would like to port my O2 across to use on the new provider.

I spoke to O2 on a customer line and was told this would take place, but it has been a three weeks now and it has not happened. So I would like to return to this to get this completed now.

I found the Portierungserklärung form online, but that involves posting the form and I would much prefer to sort this out directly over the phone or online.

Please let me know what is needed from me to get this completed as soon as possible.

Thank you,
Henry

Hello and welcome to the community.💙

This is about the prepaid number with which you are registered here in the community?

You can order your phone number ported directly in Mein o2 App.

Download the “Mein o2 app” and log in or register with your Prepaid-Number.

Then proceed as follows: Tarif & Optionen -> Rufnummernmitnahme –> Rufnummer jetzt freigeben

If your phone number has been released, you should also receive an SMS from us.

Best regards

Steffen

Thank you for your reply! :)

I tried to request porting my number from the app and I received a notification that this was not possible, unfortunately.

I have posted the Portierungserklärung to O2 HQ for action. Can you kindly check on the status of my case? The letter was mailed early last week.

Lastly, my O2 number is no longer active (I cancelled the prepaid contract), so I do not think I will receive any texts from O2. Can O2 contact me at my email address or on here? It is still important I get the number ported so I need to know what the next steps will be after my Portierungserklärung letter is processed.

Thank you.

If your phone number is no longer active, then the number don't need to release by o2 anymore.
Simply instruct your new provider to port your phone number to them.

Hello @hb89 ,

you should be able to just have your new provider ask for the number again and start the porting process now that your “contract” has ended here. The number is now reserved for you for 3 months if no porting happens within that timeframe it will be considered free again and becomes a part of the normal number pool.

Kind regards, Sven
