I have an O2 prepaid number which I would like to free so that I can port it another provider. Since I have a prepaid number there seems to be no way to do this without calling O2 but I don’t have a plan activated with O2. Is there any way to free my number without calling customer service? Maybe via email?

To “free” your number, you have to declare that you allow the new provider to order the number to be transferred.
You can set the porting declaration (Portierungserklärung) conveniently yourself via the Mein o2 app or online in Mein o2. You will immediately receive a confirmation via SMS and email as well as another email with the porting data. The porting declaration is valid for 30 days and can be revoked at any time or be renewed in the same way after it has expired.
