Porting from O2 to another provider

I am trying to request release of my phone number for porting but there is no option in MyO2 - despite what the FAQ article says. There is only the option for if I am porting the number from one O2 contract to another. I have initiated the cancellation of my contract but I am unsure if this will release my phone number for porting or if I will lose it. Please can my phone number be released?

Good Morining,

Since you have canceled your contract, you will lose the number after the contract expires. Unless you take the cancellation back or an employee of O2 can help you to release your number for porting but whether this is still possible since you have canceled the contract I do not know. Until an employee here will contact you, it can take up to 14 days due to very high demand for help.

Subject: Request for Urgent Porting of SIM number

I am writing to request the porting of my SIM number from [O2 Service Provider]  as soon as possible. 

The other provider(sim.de) needs confirmation from O2 to port the number what should I do for the same.

Hi,

I am trying to request release of my mobile number from o2 to other provider. I am not getting confirmation from o2.so i can do porting request to other provider.

Please help me.

Hello,

I am having a similar issue. I had a prepaid plan with O2 which ended a week ago. I still have some data left. I have sent multiple porting request through my new provider but the number is not being released.
Please advise

You activate your phone number yourself in the customer portal.

Go to SIM card and settings, then click "Unlock phone number".
