Port Inactive O2 number to another

Hello, It appears my O2 number suddenly stopped working, possibly because of inactivity during the period of me not being in Germany. Can I please know if it can be reactivated? If not, could I port the number to a new provider - Lebara?

Edit o2_Cora 08.04.24: Post moved from → O₂ Prepaid

What matters is how long it has been deactivated. There are 90 days from that date to port.

I don’t know how long it has been deactivated for. I was not in Germany from Dec 2023 till March 2024 and upon returning I no longer get any signal, sadly

First of all, order the phone number portability from the other provider. An o2 employee will be in touch here in the next few days.

My new provider asks me to provide consent that my O2 number is released. Can you please help me understand how I could do that? I don’t see an option in mein o2 app right now.

Currently only possible via customer service.

Hello @AnweshaDas,

welcome to our o2 community 🙂

Your SIM card is already in the process of deactivation as it has for almost 10 months not being recharged. You can have your number set free by our customer service via the links Bumer provided or still recharge and your SIM and number will be resctivated with us.

Best Regards,

Gerrit

I see, I had recharged a lump-sum amount to my o2 account which would then automatically be used for my prepaid packs till December 2024 I believe. Some balance was even remaining in December which then expired. Since I had to travel outside Germany urgently it didn’t cross my mind to recharge - I would really appreciate it if I could still be have access to this number via either porting or recharging my o2 account itself! thanks @o2_Gerrit and @Bumer for the links and information :)

When you are currently in Germany @AnweshaDas, you can recharge via voucher which you can buy for example in a supermarket, that would be a quick way.

Here we have an article about all the possible top-up options.

Best regards,

Gerrit
