Hello Team,

I am planning to move back to home country and hence i would like to terminate my o2 contract prematurely. I also have no intended plan return back to Germany as I am returning to home country. May I please know what are the procedures to terminate the contract and necessary documents that I need to submit as a proof.

Please let me know regarding this

Hello Team,

Thanks for the information. I understood the procedure. I just have one doubt.

Its mentioned that I need to submit “a confirmation of your employer or landlord”. Currently I do not have any job offer yet in my home country, where i am moving back. Also I will be living with my parent’s in their house hence there is no landlord confirmation available. So in this scenario what should I submit as an alternative for this document?

Please let me know regarding this.

Thanks and regards,

Pranav

Hello @PranavSrinivas,
thank you for your reply. If you do not have proof from an employer or landlord, please submit another form of proof, such as a registration certificate. That will also suffice.
Kind regards, Bianca

Hello Team,

Since the country to which I am moving back is my home country, there won’t be any registration certificate. But I can submit the documents which proves that I am citizen of that country (e.g Birth certificate) along with my Passport. So is this sufficient?

Thanks and regards,

Pranav

Hello @PranavSrinivas,
unfortunately, without proof that you are permanently residing abroad, we cannot process your request. We require confirmation that you have deregistered from Germany and a certificate confirming that you are permanently residing abroad.
Best regards, Bianca

Hello @o2_Bianca ,

I understand the procedure. I will be submitting the proof for deregistering in Germany. But I am planning to move back to my home country(India) where I stay with my parents. Hence there is no registration process for me since I am citizen of India and also its not possible to get landlord agreement as well. I can submit the documents issued by government of India which perhaps prove my residence. But if there are any other documents as an alternatives for scenario which you can accept please let me know.

Thanks,

Pranav

Hello @o2_Bianca ,

I also forgot to mention. I will be staying with my parents in our own house. So basically what to do in this scenario? Do I need to get some sort of assurance from anyone that I will be residing in India?

Thanks and regards,

Pranav

@PranavSrinivas

you can try to provide your one-way flight ticket and the deregistration certificate as a proof.

My colleagues will get back to you if it is not accepted.

Greeting

Manga

Hello Team,

Apologies for late response. And thanks for the confirmation. Once I send all the necessary documents for early contract termination, can I have all the further discussions and confirmation through my registered email? Because any information sent through post won’t reach me as I will be in my home country.

Thanks ,

Pranav

Hello @PranavSrinivas,

please inform us of this along with your request for early termination so that our staff can arrange for confirmation to be sent to you by email.

However, other correspondence may be sent by mail through automated processes; unfortunately, we cannot prevent this.

Please note that your invoices will still be available online.

Best regards

Giulia

Hello Team,

I am asking once again for confirmation before submitting termination request. I am moving back to my home country (India) hence I need to early terminate my 24months contract. As a proof I will be submitting deregistration certificate from Germany and also consent to deduct the necessary fee applies to terminate the contract prematurely.

Since I already mentioned in previous chat that I will be moving to my parents home which is our own house as well. I cannot have any landlord agreement and my country doesn't have city registration concept.

Also I don't have any work contract yet as I have not secured any job there yet. I am moving back to India because I completed my studies in Germany.

So as a alternative document to this I will be sending one way flight ticket. But please do let me know if I can submit any alternative document for proving my residency there other than employee contract/ city registration/ landlord agreement.

Thanks and regards,

Pranav

Hello @PranavSrinivas,

I agree that together with the cancellation because of moving abroad, the deregistration and your consent, the one way flight ticket is the remaining possibility to add.

As far as I can remember the one way ticket is sometimes the only remaining proof, although not listed in our requirements.

Best regards,

Gerrit

Hello @o2_Gerrit ,

I have few more doubts. In the letter, if I just mention all the mobile numbers which are under my contract are enough? Because in the monthly invoices, there is something called "Festnetznummer" along with "Mobilfunknummer".

So mentioning my phone numbers along with my name and mail id would sufficient for your team to identify or should I mention Festnetznummer as well?

Please let me know regarding this.

Thanks and regards,

Pranav

You only need to provide the mobile phone number associated with the contract; you don't need to include a corresponding landline number.

Yes, as Bumer already wrote, the landline number is not necessary to identify your contract, @PranavSrinivas 🙂

Gerrit

Hello @o2_Gerrit

I hope this email finds you well.

I had sent the termination letter with necessary documents to given mentioned address. I had posted twice in last 4 days. But both the times it says as mentioned in the screenshot.

Please let me know if O2 address is correct or is this fine? Also is there any other option other than post? Like terminating online? Because I have very less time to send it through post again.

Address which I have sent:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG,

Kundenbetreuung

90345 Nürnberg

Thanks and regards,

Pranav
