O2 my Prepaid Internet-To-Go not working


Hi, I’ve already got a prepaid SIM and account with O2 (so have done all the ID verification and everything already), and I ordered and paid for a 30GB internet-to-go SIM. I’ve just installed the SIM in my mobile router and I can’t get an internet connection on it. According to the documentation that’s come with it, if I already have an O2 account then it should just work.

Any ideas please what I need to do to get it working?

is there absolutely no conncection to the internet or is it slowed down?

In case there is no connection: is your sim-card already active and in the APN-settings set “internet”?

Hi @o2_Michi , thanks for your reply. I’m getting no connection at all (strong 4G signal where I am on my iPhone and on the router the SIM card is in).

I’ll check the APN settings though. What should i enter there?

in the APN-settings please insert “internet” (without the quotation marks).

Hi @o2_Andrea , no it hasn’t. I just tried moving the SIM into an old iPhone of mine to check whether it is a fault with my mobile router. It doesn’t work in that either (and my phone auto-selected “internet” as the APN).

Am I missing an activation step? Would it help if I send you the SIM details?

And now it works. Seems it was not activated and I had to do the video ID thing (which is odd because I already ordered the SIM through my already active O2 account).

Hello @Wilko,

the activation must be repeated for each new SIM card. Please excuse the misunderstanding.

Does everything work to your satisfaction now?
