My o2 mobile contract ends in December 2020. I would like to extend my contract.

welcome to our community. 
If you extend your contract (by the way, if you need some offers, just tell us 
) your former contract period will immediately end and its replaced by the new starting period of 24 month.
In any case I would suggest you should take a look into different offers. If the offer is better as your current tariff/discount I would extend right now, if not I would wait and see what new offers will be available until december.
