NO CALLER ID ISSUE

Dear O2 Team, 

 

Could you activate my caller ID?

No caller ID is displayed when I call someone.
This issue started when I added second sim.

Hello @bozukpara, welcome to our o2 community :-)

I had a look at the phone number that you are registered here with our community, the caller ID is activated for this number. Maybe there are some additional settings in your phone? Sometimes also restarting the phone helps. 

I assume you are within germany at the moment? In case you are using the SIM card in other countries it is a known issue that not in every case the phone number will be tramsmitted to the person you are calling.

I'm in Turkiye right now, when I still call any number (German, Turkish doesn’t matter), it just shows as NO CALLER ID, I don’t know the reason but I checked iPhone settings, they all set, I also tried the O2 SIM in another phone same problem occurred.

When I am in Germany, I don't have any problem like this.

Once I had to request new SIM since the previous one got stolen, should you do the settings for it too? or Idk maybe another reason?

There are issues at the moment with calls from certain providers abroad due to a change in the law that means only German registered SIM cards are allowed to display German telephone numbers to prevent abuse. This does not extend to Roaming but there are problems with the implementation and o2 seems to be affected more than other providers. Have you tried to use a different Turkish provider to make calls? Hopefully o2 will identify and fix the problem very soon.

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

There are 3 providers in Turkiye right now which are Turkcell, Vodafone and Turk Telekom. I’ve tried all of them but it didn’t work unfortunately.

Always showed NO CALLER ID whoever I called (didn’t matter whether is a Turkish or German number). Since this is an issue regarding law, is it impossible to fix this?

It’s impossible for you to fix it yourself, but o2 is aware of the issue so hopefully it will be fixed soon. The change in the law is not supposed to affect German SIM cards in roaming.

Hello @bozukpara,

in the case of calls from German mobile phone customers from abroad, the phone number is sometimes no longer transmitted to connections in Germany due to exceptional technical reasons. In these cases, the caller ID is not shown on the display, even if the number of the caller is saved in the contacts. If necessary, please inform your contacts, e.g. B. by SMS or messenger service before calling them.

We are committed to restoring the caller ID for all mobile roaming in the future.
