Need Help – Two Prepaid SIMs Activated by Mistake (International Student)

Hello,
I need help with my O2 prepaid SIM cards.

I originally ordered one SIM card, but it got lost in delivery, so I ordered a replacement. Now both SIMs were delivered. I activated the first one and inserted the SIM card, but it was not working. I spoke to someone from O2 customer service and they told me that either of the SIMs should work.

Since the first one was not working, I inserted the second SIM and activated that one as well. The second SIM is working.

Now both SIM cards are activated, and I am worried that money will be deducted from my account for both cards. I only want to use the working SIM and I would like to cancel/deactivate the other one.

I am an international student and I speak English, so I would really appreciate clear instructions on what I should do next.

Also I have not yet been asked for my identification , so help on that would be great too.

How a SIM card was activated without identity verification is a mystery to me.

No, if SIM cards are activated, no subsequent identification will take place.

I have cancelled my sim card using the link! 
Will i still be charged for this  sim card this month? This is a monthly cancellable card.

So sorry for the late reply!
I did get the message that O2 has received my request to terminate my o2 contract.
But they said it will be terminated only on 18th of December (after a month). 
Is this how it is supposed to go about?
I thought it would be immediately cancelled?
Will i have to Pay for it for the month?

Yes, you have to pay until the end of the contract.

there are no notice periods for prepaid services. 
However, the packs have a four-week term.
However, the phone number you used to register here in the community is not a prepaid contract.
Perhaps you have confused something here?
This is a flex contract. It has a notice period of one month.

Oh i was not sure , i thought flex contract is same as prepaid when i spoke to someone over at the customer care. 
It does have a notice period of one month. So I am assuming , money would get cut for one month . Is there a way I can cancel it , I did get the mail that it will be cancelled in the coming month when I did it through :  https://info.o2online.de/kuendigung/

Is there something else i should do as well?
I am confused here , when I had put the other sim (which i am trying to cancel) , I was not able to unlock it at all. So had to use the other sim i got. 

Please let me know what is the best way forward.

yes the second contract will now be cancelled next month.

For a period of14 days after ordering via our website or our hotline a revocation is also possible.

Did you try the activation via our activation website?
