Misunderstanding causing unnecessary tariff purchase

I have been an O2 customer since may and have been using a discounted tariff because i am a student. 2 days ago I went to O2’s store because i needed to buy a new phone. So i told the worker there that i was an O2 customer already using a tariff and wanted to buy a new phone and if there were any discounts that i could get. she told me that i had the opportunity to pay for two years without interest and the tariff would be the same only the internet speed would be a little slower. so i naturally thought that my tariff that i am on at the moment would be tranferred to the contract that i signed with buying the phone. we ordered it online in store because it was out of stock and when i received it today i put my sim card in the new phone and saw that the tariff on my older phone was still running and therefore realised that i was paying for an unnecessary tariff. i thought i made myself pretty clear when i said i was a customer using a tariff from o2 and wanted to buy a new phone but instead i now have to pay for another extra one. how can i stop paying this extra tariff? is there a way to cancel my contract or maybe rewrite it?

Hello @nesrinderindemircioglu ,

I wanted to check if you've already visited the shop. Have you been able to resolve the issue with the unwanted contract?

Please keep us updated and let us know if there's anything we can do to help 🌼

Kind regards, Rebecca

Hey @nesrinderindemircioglu ,

I’m sorry that visiting the shop didn’t help 😞 What were you told during the visit? Did you take any further steps to clarify the matter?

I have now noted your request and forwarded it to the relevant department. I cannot estimate how long it will take to clarify the matter, but you will definitely receive feedback from our colleagues.

If you have any further information on this, please feel free to share it with us here so that we can include it in the request.

Kind regards, Rebecca

At the store, they told me that buying a phone from o2 without a new tariff is not possible because of the deals between companies. So that is why i had to sign a contract with a newer phone tariff which i though was going to be my previous one. And because i already signed the contract i cant do anything about it now unless i leave germany which i cant do. Thank you for your help anyways and i look forward to the feedback from your colleagues 🙌

Good morning @nesrinderindemircioglu 🙂

We're sorry to hear that when you came to us to buy a cell phone, you were told that you could only get it in conjunction with a new contract. Yes, if you signed on site, there is no right of withdrawal. Do you perhaps have someone who would use/pay for or take over the old or new contract?
