Hi, I was traveling and lost my O2 prepaid sim card.

I wanted to know what is the process to block the sim card and if I can get an esim as an replacement for the sim card as I need to use that number urgently.

That is a shock to lose ones SIM card abroad and not having access to your phone number.

The quickest way to block the SIM card is via our prepaid hotline 0176 888 55 282, as Bumer wrote. 

Your SIM can be exchanged cost free for an eSIM, but this requires a letter with a QR code with which to activate the eSIM to be sent to your address.

Yes I was able to resolve the issue and I did get a new sim card with the same number.

Yes, that's possible, take your ID with you. Please note that the fee is not paid in the shop, but with your monthly invoice.
