I have a 4G LTE internet with contract-based O2 simcard and I was wondering if I can order a static IP. I’m sure with DSL internet it is possible to request static IP but not sure if it’s the same with 4G internet.

@Omd24 Static or public IPv4? I think you mean a public IPv4. Public IPv4 is possible, will cost 49,99 Euro one time and need another APN in the mobile device.
Static is not possible at o2 for landline or mobile.

I’m not sure tbh. When using Parsec with 4G internet I cannot connect to a host computer which according to their website is due to CGNAT (I tried everything else) and to resolve that I need what they call “public static IP”. This could be same as “IPv4” but still not sure 🤔

@Omd24 You need a public IPv4 what i read from your provided link.

What 4G router you use? If you want order a public IPv4 for your postpaid contract leave this wish here in your thread.

It’s a Fritzbox 6850 LTE Modem.

Then of course I want the public IPv4. The last three digit of the sim number is “749”

@Omd24 I think in the next two days an o2 moderator will visit this thread and activate public IPv4 for you. If you have problems to change the APN in the Fritzbox 6850, please post it here in your thread.

Hi @Omd24

Welcome to our o2 Community. We can activate the public IPv4 (that’s the feature you need when using a mobile LTE /4G Connection), but first you have to give us permission, because this is a chargeable activation which has a one time fee of 49,99 Euros.

Kind regards

Matze

P.S

Thanks Joe for the help and the support much appreciated my friend

@o2_Matze of course I give you permission to activate public IPv4

Should I also fill out some form or is this message enough?

Hi @Omd24

Should I also fill out some form or is this message enough?

No need fot that. I have just activated the Public IPv4. Don’t forget to change the APN in your phone from “internet” to “netpublic” Otherwise, (without the networksettings change) you will not be able to use the service.

The activation fee will be listet on you next invoice. Please test whether the activation was successful and give us a brief update here und tell us if everything works as planned.

Kind regards

Matze

Thank you @o2_Matze
I enabled the APN as follow. Is this enough or should I change something else as well?

(The internet service provider is just a custom name)

@Omd24 looks good. Should work after save the settings and reboot.

Kind regards Matze
