end contract

Hello,

I cannot seem to get through to any 02 phone number, english or german, I just get an auto message saying i’m calling outside working hours, but I’m not im calling middle of the week day. The whatsapp doesn't work and although I initially got a response through email, the person didn’t reply. Its bad customer service.

My problem is that I was in Germany temporarily, I had planned to stay so I took out a phone contract but then after a few months I left and I’m now living back in the UK. I took out the contract at an 02 partner store and when I did I was told that if I left the country I would be able to end the contract. 02 is telling me that I need to proof from the landlord that I am no longer living at the address I gave, but address I gave was a friends who I was staying with, I was not registered there. The contract has another year and a half to run. How can I get out of it?

If there is no way out of it, is there any limit to how long I can use the service for while living in the UK?

Many thanks,

Tom

Good evening @tomloweinlevy ,
Welcome to the O₂ community!
Thank you for addressing the Community with your request.

It is a public holiday in Germany, so you will not be able to reach either the English or the German customer service.

Since you are no longer in Germany, they need the deregistration from the citizen office. You have to forward this to O₂ to get out of the contract. This should actually say the employee of the O₂ store.

Since you have given the address of your friend, it will not be so easy. I would advise you to call the English customer support tomorrow.

@tomloweinlevy

No problem I'm happy to help, you have both? So father German mother English or the other way around?

But the main language is English? I keep my fingers crossed that you get out of the contract.

You can give me feedback if everything worked out tomorrow. but keep in minde, UK is 1 hour ahead so call at 9 am UK time, then it is 8 o'clock in Germany.

Hello,

I was able to prove that I left the country with my airline ticket and that was enough to end the contract so its all sorted.

Thanks
