Service

Having left Germany in July I was told that I could cancel my contract with O2 for my mobile and DSL service so long as I provided my deregistration form.

I have now sent letters to O2 on FIVE separate occasions, three of which were by tracked mail to show my deregistration form and signal my intent to end my contracts.

In these letters, I provided my contact details in case I needed to pay any outstanding balances to facilitate this or for an extra month or two.

We are now in November and all I have heard is an endless series of e-mails demanding more payments as attempts to take even more from me have been met with the fact that my German bank account no longer exists.

I am willing to pay what is necessary to end my contracts, but I am now afraid that O2 are going to simply charge me for the rest of my life for services I do not use and have requested many, many times to end!

Please tell me what I can do, I know customer support will simply get me to send another letter which will once again be ignored. I have confirmation that my letters got to their intended destination as early as late July and as recently as October but to no avail.

This has been the cause of an incredible amount of stress on my behalf and I am mortified that no matter what I do, O2 will not simply accept my deregistration and cancellation and leave me alone.

Hello @Matkin21, welcome at our community. Nice to have you here.

I am sorry that you have such trouble with the termination. Did you get the letter from the 24. July? Its all good and the contract is cancelled. But unfortunately you haven´t send back the router. That´s the reason why we tried to contact you.

Kind regards, Ines.

That sounds like good news @o2_Ines !

Sadly, I moved out of the property containing the router on July 16 and have no way of accessing it anymore.

Would it be possible to pay the cost of the router to solve this? Furthermore, could I have e-mail confirmation of when the last bill will be? If it all cancelled in July I am hoping that the October bill I recently paid will be the last one.

Many thanks,

Connor

Hi @Matkin21

Your DSL Contract is cancelled, you already paid the router costs, so everything is fine regarding your DSL and Router, but there is still a mobile contract 0179..  ending with  ...78.

Can you confirm that? If that is a mistake and your will was to cancel all of your contracts we can deactivate the mobile contract asap.

Best Regards Matze

Hi @o2_Matze

Yes my intention was to cancel my mobile contract as well as my DSL. I haven’t used that mobile since late July and have switched to a UK number.

Please can you organise that for me?

Many thanks,

Connor

@Matkin21

Done, your mobile contract will be deactivated tomorrow, for the last invoice from 18th of october till today a created a 100% discount order , so you dont have to pay any more for your mobile contract.

Best Regards Matze

@o2_Matze

Thank you, that’s brilliant. I’m glad to be able to stop worrying about this now.

@Matkin21  you are welcome.  Stay safe and healthy.

Best Regards
