deactivate sim card and receive back remaining balance

Hello O2 community. Now at the end of this month I will be leaving Germany and my prepaid o2 sim card have balance on it. I read that I need to deactivate the sim card and sign in a form. Should I submit the form to an O2 store, right? Can I get my money bank on an EU(but not German) account? When should I do this process (well in advance before leaving or one day before for example). Also, if I deactivate this sim card, can I reactivate it in the future?

Thank you for the help!

Hi!

You need this form: https://static2.o9.de/resource/blob/70982/fcd6684d336033482d683be29e7319ba/prepaid-guthabenauszahlung-download-data.pdf

Fill it out and send it to

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG

O2 Prepaid-Kundenbetreuung

90345 Nürnberg

Your SIM card will be deactivated on the same day the form is received. You should send the form to o2 by registered post.

Refunds (usually) take up to two weeks. The money can be transferred to a German bank account or to a bank account within the EU.

After canceling the prepaid contract and deactivating the SIM card, you need a new o2 prepaid contract with a new SIM card. Order a new one here for free: https://www.o2-freikarte.de/

(The SIM card must be activated within 90 days, otherwise it can no longer be activated).
