Cancellation of contract due to moving out of Gemrany


Hi, I have sent the Abmeldungbestätigung and my request to cancel the contract via email and per post. But I have not heard from you yet. Can you please check whether my request has been sent through?

If you need to cancel your contract before the end of the minimum contract time we have an informational page with all necessary information regarding this topic.

After you send uns all the information and documents needed you should recieve an answer within roundabout three weeks.

Dear Lars, the link to the cancellation request form is invalid. Can you provide a link that works? Actually, I had already sent a letter to that address, but only the Abmeldungbestätigung, without the confirmation from my landlord/employer in the country I am moving to. I couldn’t this information anywhere until now (the O2 website makes it impossible to find it), and I cannot provide a confirmation letter because I am simply moving into my parents’ house. Would my request still be valid?

You can provide confirmation from an employer or a place of study or anything that shows you are living in the country. The Abmeldung on its own is not sufficient.

Thanks for the info. Can I send the documents via  email? I am in quarantine in South Korea, and it’s impossible for me to go outside to print and post the documents. 

I tried to send the documents via fax, but the fax could not go through (invalid number, perhaps?). Is it possible to send the documents via email? Please answer promptly. 

I am extremely unsatisfied with O2 service, I was lied to when I first signed up, because the seller told me that I could cancel the contract right away. He never told me about the three-month additional pay or about the one-time payment for signing up. His behavior was also extremely inappropriate (catcalling, asking personal questions, making sexual comments). I was even scammed by a caller who claimed to be a O2 representative, who tried to sell a new contract to me by lying that I could get an upgrade without pay (which was not true). I have never experienced such a bad service from anywhere in my life. And who takes requests only via post or fax in 2022? And it takes ages to reach anyone in the customer service, only to get something that is not helpful. I have been trying to cancel this contract for weeks now, and still I cannot find a way to do it. Seriously, it is impossible! Especially since I already have moved out of Germany. I really hate to put any of my money to this terrible, scammer-like provider, so please help me find a way to cancel this contract immediately.

Hello @Uni Lee,

I can confirm that your extraordinary termination due to moving abroad has been accepted. Your contract will be deactivated on 25.02.2022!
You should also have received an email about this on 24/01. Do you have it?
Please note: you will receive an invoice after the end of the contract.
