When will my Internet be activated !?

Hi!
Here's the situation:

I moved from House A to House B at the end of June. I currently have a cable contract that runs until the end of July, but I signed a better contract that’s set to start on the 15th of July. In the meantime, the old one should remain active.

I informed the provider about the move ("Umzug") about a month in advance. They said, "No problem—just plug in your router when you arrive, and we’ll check the line and let you know if everything’s working."

That’s exactly what I did. Then I called them and here’s what happened:

  • 30 June:
“Everything looks good! Your internet will be active this afternoon.”

  • 1 July (first call):
“No, your internet will be activated on the 15th of July.”

  • 1 July (second call):
“Actually, it’ll be activated on the 4th of July via express activation.”

  • 4 July:
“You don’t have a contract with us, sir.” Then after checking further:
“Ah, we tried activating it, but Vodafone rejected the request. We’ll try again on Monday.”

  • 7 July:
“There’s no express activation in progress. Your internet will be activated on the 15th.”

Funny, right?
I’m just laughing at this point—while working from home without internet, of course! 😊

it doesn’t work as mentioned. As soon as you order a move the line is reserved for the new appartment. If you order a new contract a bit later or at the same time there is a so called “Duplettencheck” for the process. In this case one of the orders will be cancelled. It is not possible to use the line twice. So it seems the new contract was considered and the old one comes to an end. So as the activation date is set to July 15th you will have to be patient.

Sorry.

Greetings

Hi! 🙋🏼‍♂️

The problem is that O2 uses the line, so it is not possible to switch Internet from another provider at the same address. As long as the contract with O2 is valid.

Best regstes,

Hi @ZaT92

welcome to our community. Nice to meet you here. 🙂

Unfortunately you are signed in as a prospect and not as a customer so we are unable to get a closer look at your request.

I have to admit that your problem is not quite clear to me. What exactly did you order? A move or a complete new contract for your current apparment? Or both at the same time?

It is important to know because it explains a lot about the process.

Thanks to RhobarDerIII for assistance.

Greetings
