What is the process to convert O2 Homespot contract to O2 DSL contract ?

I have been using wireless O2 homespot connection as my previous apartment didn't have the required line connection. Now I have moved to a new apartment, just 2 kilometers away from my previous apartment, where DSL connection is feasible. I would like to know how can I change my contract from o2 homespot to the O2 DSL connection.

Edit o2_Larissa: moved to English o2 Community: Broadband / DSL

Lösung von schluej

You cancel the homespot contract and the start of the contract for the DSL contract is one week before the homespot contract expires. There is no conversion.

Hi,

Can you tell me the process that is quicker. Is there any place nearby in Bonn that I can visit and get the things done quickly. I don’t want to queue up on a telephone line for an hour and get no reply.

Thanks!

Hi @CuriousMan ,
welcome to our community.
I guess you have signed a contract for 24 months. This can only be terminated at the end of the 24 months. You can submit the cancellation up to 3 months before the end of the contract, so that your contract ends after 24 months. If you miss the deadline, your contract will be extended for another 12 months.
Earlier termination is only possible for good cause.
Thanks to @schluej for the support!
Kind regards
Larissa

Hi o2_Larissa,

Thanks for the message.

The new apartment that I just moved to has very slow homespot wifi. It has very less surfing and download speed and is intermittent. It is not good enough for working from home. Thats why I want to change it.

Do you have a solution for my problem?

Hi @CuriousMan

did you order a move to your new appartment with your homespot connection? Maybe the lack of speed is simply a problem of being too far away from the base station you were originally registered.

o2 My Home is not changing the antenna on the move.

Can you explain?

Greetings

@o2_Manga @o2_Larissa @schluej

I moved to the new apartment and got the new address registered with O2. It has already been 3 weeks since than. Despite this there it no considerable improvement in the connection.

I also wrote a letter to your KundenBetruung in Nurnberg for asking to cancel this homespot contract and issue me a new DSL contract. The letter was sent 10 days ago and I have no reply from them yet.

I’m still struggling with the speed of the internet connection.

@CuriousMan

Your termination has been received and is being processed in the specialist department, the colleagues will contact you, currently I can only ask for your patience.

Best Regards Matze

Hi @CuriousMan

thanks for coming back to our English Community.

Until now, we have not received a reply from our cancellation department.

I would like to ask you for some more days of patience. As your request needs an individual decision, I cannot tell you how long it will take.

But you will certainly be informed by letter.

Loving greetings,

Tobias

@o2_Manga @o2_Tobias

I have received my O2 Fritz Box. I tried connecting it but I don’t see the Telefonica page on my laptop screen. Would you be sending someone to install it? And when will you be sending the technician, 27th November or 30th November?

Thanks!

For DSL connections, no Telefónica page is generally displayed, this is normal.
A DSL connection can only be put into operation after successful provision. You will be informed of the exact provision date by o2 with the order confirmation.

@CuriousMan

I just checked your data again. The activation date is confirmed to November 30th 2021.

By the way: my colleagues booked a COAX line not DSL. So no technician is needed.

Greetings

@blablup @o2_Manga Can you guys clarify on your recent comments. I have attache the images of the Fritz box and coaxial cable. They are connected.
Only power cable and WLAN are green. If I press Fon/Dect or Connect/WPS, they will bling for 40-60 seconds and then stop.
But, I am unable to open any internet page. Not event the telefonica one.

ALso, you are disconnecting my homespot on 27th and activating the new router on 30th. I will be left with no internet for 3 days. Do you have any solution for that?

If you have questions about the operation of your router, please read the instructions/manual. It is not useful to press buttons at random of which you do not seem to know what they do.

As the connection has yet been activated, you will of course not be able to access any websites. According to “O2 Internet & Festnetz: Schritt für Schritt->Anschluss über die Kabel-Technologie” only an o2 startpage will be displayed.

@CuriousMan

okay, I changed the deactivation of your Homespot to November 30th so there should be no interruption.

But there is no connetivity on your new line until this date. The timeframe is 8 am to 12 am. Usually you should see the Telefonica page for a while. We couldn’t find out why it did not work. Anyone else an idea?
