No, you are paying for up to 50 MBit/s. 27 is still well withing the range permitted by the contract.
Did you test with WLAN or LAN? What router are you using?
Thanks for your reply. I am using o2 Home box 6741.
How can I increase the speed?
The test was obviously carried out via a Wi-Fi connection. This does not make sense, as it is not the speed of the Wi-Fi connection that is to be measured but that of the o2 DSL connection. For a speed test, please connect only one device to the DSL router via LAN cable and switch off the Wi-Fi to ensure that only one device is using your internet connection.
Did you test with LAN or WiFi? Please confirm.
Hello, there is a problem for sure. I am experiencing since last couple of weeks. It was not there earlier even though the measured speed was always less than 30 Mbit /s ( I always checked with Wifi ) . Is there any possibility that the router is not working properly? What is the possibility to get the connection checked by a technician? One observation to share if that gives you any clue. If I switch off the router for couple of hours, after restarting I get faster connection for some period of time.
Any support from your side will be highly appreciated.
Best regards,
Jayanta Sanyal
You can check the DSL connection by yourself by using a LAN-cable instead of Wifi. If the problem also exists when connecting via LAN cable, there is probably a malfunction with the DSL connection. If the problem does not exist when connected via LAN cable, there is obviously no fault with the DSL connection.
The DSL routers are intended for continuous operation and should not be switched off. Switching can be interpreted by the DSL remote station as a loss of DSL synchronisation, whereupon the maximum DSL synchronisation can be automatically reduced to stabilise the connection.
Hi @Jayanta
welcome to our community.
As I saw your speed measurement I got a suspicion if you got a VDSL 25000 port because there was no 50000 available at presence. And it is true. You wont’t get more speed if we do not ask for a free 50 Mbit/s port by now.
I send a request to change it. You will get an cofirmation email or a note if there is no free port furthermore.
I keep my fingers crossed for you. Would you like to report the result?
Thanks to @bs0 and @blablup for the tips.
Greetings
Hello,
Thank you for your reply and your findings. I have received e mails from o2 team with a PDF attachment informing about some changes on 06.09.2021. All are written in German and as I have a poor skill of German language, I am unsure how shall I manage to understand as well as to follow the instruction of new set up.
The emails are attached below (without the PDF)
How the VDSL will be changed? Will there be any technician visiting the site or I have to do something? Shall I need to change the o2 Home box 6741 router?
Sorry for my stupid questions and ignorance.
Kindly guide me.
Best regards,
Jayanta Sanyal

If you have language difficulties, you can use online translation tools such as Google Translator, Deeple or many others.
@Jayanta You only need to restart your router on the evening at the 6th September. No technician will appear at your apartment. The Telekom changed your VDSL profile after the order from o2.
And again. No extra cost for you or change of the tariff. You only get the maximum speed of your tariff.
Hi @Jayanta
@Joe Doe is right, the change is free of charge and no technician required. Just restart the router and have fun with the new maximum speed.
