Return of o2 Homebox from abroad

Dear community,

I recently moved out of Germany which is why I had to cancel my o2 subscription. To this end, I also have to send back my rented o2 homebox. I found online (via https://router-retoure.o2online.de/start/app/returnsorder) that it is possible to ship the homebox to o2 via DHL. My problem, however, is that I have already returned to Denmark and DHL in Denmark (for some reason) does not accept the QR code or return label provided via the website.
I also tried twice to send it to the specified address via GLS, i.e. to:

Telefonica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
c/o KOMSA AG
Wittgensdorfer Höhe 400
09228 Wittgensdorf
GERMANY

However, the carrier have told me twice that it is not possible to deliver the package to this address.
Do you have any suggestion of how I can deliver the homebox back to you? It would be quite complicated if I had to travel to Germany to ship it. Last time I went abroad, it was possible to ship it to you from Denmark without any problem.

Best regards
Mathias

I would recommend that you use DHL to send the package. Please note that the label provided by o2 is only valid at DHL within Germany, that means you can not use the label provided by o2 and that you have to pay the shipping costs by yourself.

To make things less complicated, it would have been a good idea to return the router you have rented before you leave the country. But it's not that far to Flensburg either.

Thanks for the comment, but it does not really help out. Flensburg is 4 hours from where I live. It was not inconvenient to return it in Germany before leaving and it did work 1.5 year ago to ship the box from abroad. I guess what I am asking is whether the address above is correct (would assume this is independent of the carrier) and whether there is an alternative way of returning the box.

Best

Mathias

The address provided by the returns portal is correct. Apart from sending it to the authorised logistics service provider, there is no other option for returning rental equipment.

If the return of rental devices is too much effort for you, I would suggest using your own router in the future. This will also save you rental costs.

Hello @kregular,

Thank you for contacting us with your question. blablup was already able to help you, thank you very much for that.

Please send the router to the address above, but not with the return label, as it is only valid within Germany. Unfortunately, you would then have to cover the costs of shipping from abroad yourself.

I hope we were able to help you. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Best regards

Giulia

I already sent it to the address twice, covering the cost myself. But they say the address does not exist.

@blablup nein, per GLS

Then the problem probably is GLS. DHL regularly delivers to this address on behalf of Telefónica. However, my advice to also use DHL as the shipping service provider was rejected by the TE as unhelpful. I don't know who the TE meant by ‘they’.

Hello @kregular,

I checked the address with our internal data bank and there it is slightly different:

Telefónica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG
c/o KOMSA Kommunikation Sachsen AG Logistikzentrum
Wittgensdorfer Höhe 400
09228 Chemnitz

Postal code is correct, and while this postal code 09228 is the part of the city of Chemnitz called Wittgensdorf, it goes under “09228 Chemnitz” and changing this should also allow to have it arrive via GLS.

Best Regards,

Gerrit
